A web application for planning the software-development cycle from early requirements through deployment. It was effective for tracking parallel projects, but was retired as JIRA became the category standard.

jTag

A Java application for tagging web pages and collecting usage metrics, created when server log analysis was still the dominant approach.

2008–2013Retired

jToDo

A Java API for Gina Trapani’s todo.txt format, inspired by Getting Things Done. Its APIs later became part of Desk.

jDocument

An XML file-system document authoring application. Its limits informed later ideas implemented with a SQL database in Desk.

Swoon

A document-authoring experiment built around “author once, publish everywhere” for HTML, PDF, books, and EPUB. Several concepts later moved into Desk.

jNotes

A Java API for querying and storing data in Notes/Domino databases, once considered as a possible BroadSQL integration.

GoogleReaderExtractor

A Java API for Google Reader, retired when Google discontinued its RSS aggregation service in 2013.

Cariboo / jArchiver

Cariboo provided AES-256 file encryption and decryption; jArchiver used it as the foundation for a cloud archiving utility.

A personal library manager with automatic book-detail retrieval from Google.
