ReleaseMgt

ReleaseMgt was a web application for planning the whole software development cycle, from the early requirements to the deployment. It proved to be very effective on a daily basis, especially for tracking multiple projects/activities. I initially planned to develop it but the cost to market made it less competitive than Atlassian JIRA which became the standard in the category. Still, ReleaseMgt was an outstanding assistant in my day to day work, and also a great opportunity for digging more in the domain of software life cycle.

jTag

jTag was an application for tagging web pages in order to collect web metrics and usage statistics. I started the project in 2004, in a time where log files were still widely popular despite their limitations. I enjoyed this project a lot mainly because it was my first important Java project but I had to abandon it due to the lack of time and resources for developping the reporting application that should have come with it.

jToDo

Java API for the todo.txt project developped by Gina Trapani. These APIs are now part of Desk. I have always been struggling to improve my productivity and I have never found such a simple and efficient concept as todo.txt. Coupled with the principles of Getting Things Done (GTD, Dave Allen), it's a booster for personal productivity.

jDocument

jDocument was an authoring application which used to store documents as XML files on the file system. The idea was to use the file system as a documents database. It did not prove very practical and performance issues rose rapidly. Quite interestingly, many ideas were later used in Desk, but this time with a SQL database.

Swoon

Swoon was a document authoring application that was intended to create software documentation for multiple media : HTML, PDF, books, epub, etc. It was challenging to implement the concept of author once, publish everywhere. It was not in vain however as many features are now part of Desk, such as the pages sorter.

jNotes

A Java API to query and store data in Notes/Domino database. jNotes was abandonned after my interest in Notes/Domino technologies dropped in the early 2010s. Though I did have lot of fun with Domino database in the 2000s, I have turned into a big fan of SQL database. Interestingly, I was expecting to integrate this API in BroadSQL in order to make it possible to access Notes database but the decline of Notes/Domino made the idea less appealing over time.
